Swimming pools are interesting aspects of the Las Vegas social scene. At most vacation destinations, guests swim or frolic in the sun during the day but in Vegas, swimming pools are not always for swimming and they definitely are not only for daytime activities. In fact, Vegas is known for the best “adult only” pools where watching or peeking are more the norm and big poolside parties are components of the thrilling Vegas nightlife.
Probably, the two most exciting adult only pools in Vegas are at Mandalay Bay and Rio Hotel. Both hotels' casinos are looking for new gambling patrons so they provide access to online casino and pay the girls from area clubs to come and work on their tans. Of course, the girls are topless. There is usually a DJ and the guests even book cabanas for the events. But you must book early as these poolside parties are the envy of many cities and everyone is eager to participate. Of course, not everyone is interested in adult only pools. Families, for instance, require pools that are children friendly and have all the same features that the beach does. Usually the better hotels will have smaller wading pools for the kids as well as slides, cabanas for changing, umbrellas for protection from the sun, and food and beverages. Further, the sprawling pool areas are impeccably landscaped creating spectacular scenes transposed from some majestic island in the sea. If pools are your main reason for going to Vegas or if the pool is an important part of your vacation, then it is better to do some research before choosing your hotel accommodations. As you have briefly seen above, different establishments cater to different crowds. Some of the venues are obviously meant for “party animals”, while others encourage the seniors' crowd. Many of the pools also have spas and whirlpools attached or nearby so this is another feature that may be important when choosing a hotel. And be careful, just because the brochure says "pool on premises" does not mean, It is the greatest. Some may be on the top of the hotel's roof and not very nice at that. Penthouse may not be the optimum word. Consequently, it is better to see actual photos of the pools and the bigger hotels do have virtual tours. It is also in your best interests, if photos are not available, to read specific details about the pool area to ensure you are getting what you expected.
